Wild Lilies

An oil painting after 3 years! The blank canvas was given to me by my uncle almost 3 years back, when he opened his new office in NewDelhi.  Hopefully he will be happy with the result and it will adorn his office wall!

A first time experience of painting in this perspective with no sky or horizon. It was a challenge and i learnt in the process how to show depth with the help of colours and aspect/size.  Oil on canvas 24X24 inch.

Happy New Year to all of YOU!

Flame in Tea Garden!

A change from the normal greens i always liked.   It was fun to step out of my comfort zone! Referenced from a screenshot of a picture from the web.  I liked the contrasting flame red colour and the viridian green shrubs.  Water colour on handmade 350gsm paper, 22 X14 inch.

Back waters

Back waters have a distinct charm of their own.  I tried to capture the haziness and the light scattering through the coconut groves with this painting which was referenced from a news paper photograph in Times of India. I am not very impressed with the layering that i had to do on the trees, and the water..should have been able to paint it in one go!  May be next time when I revisit this subject :-)  Water colour on 300 gsm handmade paper 22X14 inch.
 Changed the water a bit!

A painting after a long break! The subject is a snapshot from the television on ESPN.  I liked the rocky landscape and the lone tree.  Water colour on handmade paper 22 X 14 inch.
