Leh-Gompa

Another painting from a photograph taken at Leh!  A nondescript Gompa in Leh town caught my attention.  When I stepped in, I knew that I would be painting this one day.  The Gompa was so peaceful and silent, all I heard was the coloured flags' soft rustling. I was getting bored with my usual greens in my landscapes and hence it was a welcome change to check out my perspective talent! Water colour on canson 185 gsm, 29 X19 inch

Plein air- Lal bagh

This was  plein air done at Lal bagh about 10 days ago.  It was fun to join the Pencil Jammers after a long break. I had to correct this with a few washes to reduce the details in the background...  enjoyed the week end out doing what I like very much!  Water colour on hand made pad 14 X10 inch.

Silent Indus 2

This is the second painting from the Silent Indus series.  I realised the need to do a value sketch after doing the painting, as I had given a number of washes to get the correct value, but I was still far away from my objective.  It was a bold attempt to paint the sun rays.  Water colour on hand made paper 29 X19 inch.

en plein (misty) air: Sankey Tank

This was painted at Sankey tank (Bangalore) 3 weeks back.  The morning was misty and i could only see the island.  I guess there was nothing else to paint, so I kept it simple! Water colour on hand made paper 16X12 inch

Picturesque!

This is my first attempt at a sea/landscape from an overhead view.  Taking heart from a few fellow bloggers I executed this water colours on a handmade paper 22X14 inch. The subject is from a newspaper photograph in the travel section of times of India. Happy New Year...and a big warm welcome to 2013!
