This is a concept art i did for a colleague as his farewell gift painting to HATSOFF simulator Training recently. I had to create the impression of simulation of the Glacier with ALH cockpit and the future flight simulators that were going to be inducted in HATSOFF. Dhruv Wheeled Prototype Demo Helicopter. Along with the skid version of ALH Mk III, HAL also manufactures Wheeled version. This ALH is used for flight testing of systems to be integrated on the Wheeled version. I differentiated this with some changes as compared to the skid version. During Aeroindia 2015 when i flew this for the first time to Yelahanka, the colour scheme was the cynosure of all especially the ATC controllers for its distinct design that made it easy from them to spot it from far!#gimp #hindustanaeronauticslimited #dhruvhelicopter #helicopterlivery #artbymra #artbymranand

Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv Skid version) (ZD-4164). When i joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited more than a decade ago, i got a chance to put my artistic skills to good use. This is HAL's first prototype and Demonstration helicopter that was to stay on for all future integration and flight test of ALH MkIII systems. Starting with line drawings from the designers, i built up the colour scheme on GIMP Studio and then approved the colour swatches. It was exciting to see my design and colour scheme on a flying helicopter for the first time! The icing on the cake was i would fly it too!
