liliac roller

On my trip to Delhi I came across this bird "liliac-breasted roller" in a magazine...couldnt stop myself from painting the bird and the thorned bush with watercolours and some oil pastels.  Mixed media 21 X 14 inch.

Nice job on the bird, it must be like a dream to look at this bird in reality with that mesmerizing pink and blue combination.Birds are always a fascinating subject to paint, isnt? I havent had the boldness to do one so far!

The bird is beautiful. the thorns on the bush look just perfect. Am myself just back from Masaimara. So much inspiration. Do not know where to start.
